I started Made By Martha so women, like myself, have an option to purchase water sport wear that not only makes us feel fantastic, but also has optimal movement and functionality but also is fun & bright. 

We are now based in Newquay and I sew everything from my semi off-Grid home. I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in July 2022 before relocating to Cornwall to be closer to consistent surf and work on my business. I started Made By Martha in 2021 when I started surfing and was surprised at the sheer lack of diversity in the Local line-ups. This gave me a strong desire to create products that make women want to get in the sea and add comfort to the colder conditions we get here in the UK. 

When I design my pieces I have a strong focus on function and make sure my swimwear can withstand whatever the ocean throws at us. Designing for colder water is important too. When I design my main influences are the women that have shaped todays surf world so I take use retro swim pieces as reference for silhouette and combine them with cuts that feel comfortable under a wetsuit. 

My garments are all hand made to order within 28 days. This does NOT include the postage time (3-5 days).
